The office of the inspector general of registration in Tamil Nadu has announced that name transfers in online tokens will no more be entertained, in a bid to curb misuse of tokens that slots date and time for property registrations.
A press release issued said that name transfer facility for tokens was available on the day of registration at the sub registrar office. However, it is being withdrawn to prevent misuse while changing the name in the tokens both online and offline at sub-registrar offices.
Pointing out that appropriate changes had been made on the online software STAR 2.0 of the registration department for the purpose, it sought the public to provide the correct names ahead of availing tokens.
The release further said more than 70% of those coming for property registration return by completing their land registrations on a single visit.
