No department in Panchkula has been able to provide list of registered paying guests running in the city to the municipal corporation fire department on Wednesday.
The fire department was supposed to conduct an inspection to find out whether the PGs were following fire norms or not.
Interestingly, officers contacted the police, Huda and HSVP after the instructions were issued by the deputy commissioner that the MC should conduct checks at PGs.
The district fire officer of Panchkula, Shamsher Malik, said he was clueless about the fact that which residential areas had paying guest accommodations and if they were being run legally or illegally by residents.
Sumedha Kataria, MC commissioner-cum-administrator, said four teams were constituted and each team would have three members which will submit the report to the fire officers.
