MCD starts tendering process for digitising 10,000 properties

Officials said that the hard copy/original documents of some of these properties are lying in a deplorable state and their digitisation is a must for future reference.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has initiated a tendering process for digitisation of its 10,000 properties, including maps, documents, and files, in a retrievable format.

Officials said that the hard copy/original documents of some of these properties are lying in a deplorable state and their digitisation is a must for future reference.

“The properties will include our markets, residential properties, municipal offices/buildings, commercial areas, etc. Once the tender is invited, it will take six months to complete the exercise,” they said.

Though the erstwhile south corporation started the process to digitalise records of 4,000 properties, it was left in between due to unification. A backup of digitised documents could be stored in the MCD’s server for future integration.
