India sets another world record for constructing longest double-decker bridge

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Maharashtra Metro have achieved world record for constructing the longest double-decker viaduct with a length of 3.14 km in Nagpur, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari said.

This is the longest viaduct with highway flyover and metro rail supported on single column piers, the minister said. The maximum metro stations constructed on a double-decker viaduct are recognized by Asia Book of Records & India Book of Records, he added.
