Foundation Waterproofing by welding of geomembranes

The foundation of a building is directly exposed to moisture from the subsoil. That is why it is necessary to seal the ground and the sides that are below the surface.

A basic distinction is made between new construction and renovation projects. For new buildings, geomembranes must be applied to a gravel layer with a specific thickness, which depends on the soil conditions. This thick plastic sheet ensures that no water enters into the gravel from below and that the base will not become damp later.

Welding the geomembrane is only possible under certain conditions. In this case, the exterior gravel is exposed and then coated with bitumen paint or bitumen membranes.

Extrusion welders are also used in foundation construction. Detailed work such as welding around reinforcements is performed with an extrusion welder. No construction site should be without heat guns either. They are always conveniently on hand to quickly carry out precision work and to provide assistance where large welding machines cannot reach.
