Extend validity of RERA-registered projects by one year due to covid-19

In a letter to chief minister M K Stalin, association's state chairman R Sivakumar said construction projects have been stalled due to the present scenario and builders are unable to complete projects within the timeline due to pandemic and other restrictions.

The Tamil Nadu chapter of the Builders Association of India sought extending the validity of RERA-registered projects by one more year due to Covid-19.

In a letter to chief minister M K Stalin, association’s state chairman R Sivakumar said construction projects have been stalled due to the present scenario and builders are unable to complete projects within the timeline due to pandemic and other restrictions.

It also demanded extension of validity for building planning permissions for one more year for the projects that are valid for five years ending till December 31, 2021.
