Durable DX800LC-7, Is Now Available For Mining-Doosan

Doosan has announced the availability of the 90-ton (82-metric-ton) DX800LC-7, the largest excavator in its lineup. The new crawler excavator an ideal selection for pit and quarry work and the aggregate mining industry, along with major construction jobs, the manufacturer says.

Performing With Efficiency

The big DX800LC-7 uses Doosan’s D-ECOPOWER hydraulic system, which reduces fuel consumption through efficiency gains. Available on the 40-ton (36-mt) DX350LC-5 model, D-ECOPOWER will soon be standard on additional models, the company says. The operator can choose between two modes to give priority to either boom movements during tough tasks or swing movements for everyday and light-duty purposes.

The DX800LC-7 can use any of three arms, namely standard, long, and mass-excavation units. The machine’s double-foot boom design disperses strain across two boom pins instead of one. Likewise, stress is distributed evenly by the excavator’s crossed design swing bearing.

Crawler Specifications

The 181,000-pound (82,100-kilogram) Doosan DX800LC-7 relies on a 539-gross horsepower (402-kilowatt) engine that is Tier 4-compliant. In order to meet emissions standards, it uses a mechanically actuated, electronically controlled unit injection system, or MEUI. It also employs a full range of aftertreatment technologies: cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalyst reduction (SCR), and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

The newest Doosan has a standard bucket capacity of 5.1 cubic yards (3.9 cubic meters) to quickly move material and fill trucks. It has a maximum digging depth of 27 feet, 5 inches (8.36 m) and a maximum digging reach of 42 ft, 5 in. (12.9 m). It’s rated for a bucket breakout force of 70,107 pound-force feet (95,052 newton-meters) and an arm breakout force of 63,714 lbf (86,385 N-m). The crawler has a shoe width of 2 ft, 11 in. (0.89 m).

Options for the DX800LC-7 include a hydraulically removable counterweight, an auto-lube system, two-way auxiliary hydraulic flow, and a straight travel feature.

Cab Upgrades

The DX800LC-7 excavator has an overall height over cab of 11 ft, 7 in. (3.53 m). Inside the cabin, the operator hears just 71 dBA of the excavator’s 109-dbA guaranteed sound power level. An 8-inch LCD touchscreen provides 30% more viewable area than earlier displays. Other welcome features include heated seats and new, larger foot pedals. The operator can use a smart key fob to activate the excavator’s push-button engine starter.

The DX800LC-7 comes with “unlimited” access to the DoosanCONNECT telematics system, according to the manufacturer. The machine’s joystick has a shortcut button that can be programmed to do common tasks, such as muting the audio inside the cab, controlling the camera, adjusting the wipers, or enabling the optional intelligent floating boom feature. Other options include a 360-degree camera system, shielding for the cab, extra work lamps, and a rotating beacon.
