Construction Work of Zoo Road Flyover Starts in Guwahati

The construction work of new two-lane flyover connecting RG Baruah road to Geetanagar in Guwahati has been initiated under the leadership of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma .

According to reports, the flyover will have one end near Usha Court and the other beside Uday Path at the ‘Namghar.’

Further, a company named AD Construction is in charge of the flyover’s construction. They stated that the flyover would be completed and open to the public in 18 months.

PWD sources said that the estimated project cost is Rs 79 crore.

The length of this proposed two-lane overbridge is about 580 metres. Department sources added, “Once the project is completed, traffic jam will lessen at the Zoo Road Tinali (tri-junction). The foundation stone of the project is expected to be laid in the last part of this year. We hope to complete the flyover before the targeted completion period.”

Last Year On the inauguration program of the Ganesguri flyover, Assam chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told the media that PWD will start the construction of a new flyover in the zoo road area.
