The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday announced the launch of a special control room for removal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste from the city.

Besides, the facility will also lift debris illegally dumped in open and on road-sides upon receiving complaints from local residents. The building inspectors and sanitation staff of the local civic body have also been asked to alert the newly set-up control room in case they come across such dumping.

“The control room will operate round-the-clock and is expected to address the request or complaint within two hours. It will have separate vehicles, staff and other arrangements for lifting the C&D waste. A detail record of calls received by the control room and the redressal will be maintained,” an official release quoting AMC administrator Astik Kumar Pandey said.

A fleet of nine vehicles, including heavy vehicles and mini vehicles, will be deployed in service of the control room that will be exclusively used for removal of C& D waste from Aurangabad.
